Roger Dale Brocht, 70, of Rockwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 30, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA. Born December 27, 1946 in Casselman, he is a son of the late Homer and Lillie (Geary) Brocht. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, D.J. (Delores) Brocht; daughters Amy Lausterer and husband David of Quakertown and Candy Little and husband Edward of Ebensburg; step-children Paul Augustine and wife Wendy of Lovettsville, VA, Tammy Foor and husband David of North Carolina, and Marie Gindlesperger and husband Richard of Berlin; grandchildren Calvin (and wife Kim), Branden, Jason, Samuel Jeffrey, Katie, Amanda, and Holly; great-grandchildren Layla, Alexander, and Allen; brother Rickie Brocht of Meyersdale; sisters Nancy Schrock and husband Wayne of Berlin, Robin Knepper and husband Mike of Somerset, and Kathy Hay and husband Richard of Bakersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was a 1965 graduate of Rockwood High School, and a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired employee of the US Postal Service. He was a 31 year member of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren, and also enjoyed attending evening services at the Laurel Mountain Chapel. Roger enjoyed cooking, and feeding the deer, turkeys, and birds around his home, where he would love to watch them from his recliner chair. In good weather, he enjoyed fishing at a local pond. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockwood. A service will be held at 2 PM Friday at the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren with one hour of visitation prior to the service, Pastors Shelby McCoy and Don Judy officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Interment at Middlecreek Church Cemetery, Rockwood. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren at 226 Middlecreek Road, Rockwood, PA 15557.
