Patricia Ann Knopsnyder, 81, of Somerset, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2017 at Somerset Hospital. Born December 1, 1935 in Reading, PA, she is a daughter of the late Roy and Clara (Merrbach) Knopsnyder. She is also preceded in death by her husband Harry J. “Pesil” Knopsnyder, to whom she was married for 39 years; sisters Elaine Meyers and Grace Burley; brothers James and David; granddaughter Anita Knopsnyder; grandson John Tinkey; and great-great-granddaughter Arianna Merrbach.
Patricia is survived by her sisters Carol Nicholson, Frances Watson, Nancy Albright, and Joyce Housel; brothers Robert and Wayne; son Randy, married to Beverly Melia of Confluence; daughters Connie, married to Larry Hinzy of Meyersdale, Juanita, married to Rick Hinzy of Markleton, Peggy Merrbach of Virginia, and Dorla, married to John Tinkey of Somerset, son Brian, married to Amy Barclay of Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Patricia was a member of the Somerset Church of God for 28 years. She worked at the Chicken Plant in Rockwood and later at So-Neet in Shanksville before she earned her CNA certificate and worked at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate in Somerset until her retirement. She was a loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother, and was priceless to the family. With her love and kindness she fought a good fight, she finished the course, and kept her faith, so now she has received her crown of righteousness, which the Lord gives to all who love his appearing (II Timothy 4 : 7-8). The family would like to thank Patriot Manor for their love and care for Patricia, and Somerset Hospital Emergency Room, the ICCU, her physician, and nurses for their love, care, kindness, and patience for her and the family. Also a thank you is extended to all of her church family and friends who have shared in the family’s journey with Patricia, whose prayers and love has been a comfort. Friends will be received from 10 AM – 2 PM, and 4-7 PM Friday at the Somerset Church of God with a service to follow at 7 PM, Pastor M.D. Herring officiating. Interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
