He was a member of the Scullton Rod and Gun Club, having served as president for numerous years, the Laurel Ridge Sportsman Club, and the NRA. Jim loved God, his wife, and family. He was proud of their accomplishments in life and looked forward to Sunday Night visits and hearing all about them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping at Spruce Hole, picnics with the family, burning a hot dog at the pavilion along the creek, and the coffee club at the gun club. Jim made the best barbeque chicken and passed on that tradition to his family. You could find him most anywhere during fishing and hunting season, cruising the block and then stopping at his favorite sitting place, on the hill. He watched the Steelers faithfully and enjoyed all sports. Hummer will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but a little piece of him is with each of his family members listed above, and he will live on. Friends will be received from 2-8 pm Friday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Scullton, Pastor Denton Lester officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
