Gordon P. Marker, 77, of Somerset, passed on April 18, 2017 at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown. Born July 29, 1939 in Garrett, he is a son of the late Wilmer and Cora (Spaugy) Marker. He is also preceded in death by his wife Alice (Heining) Marker in 2016; brothers John Marker and Wilmer Marker Jr; sisters Ethel Witt and Glenda Weimer; and great-granddaughter Zoey Kintigh.

Gordon is survived by his daughters Kay Kintigh (Daniel) and Michelle Wilson (Tim); grandchildren Angela Huang (Mark), Thomas Kintigh (Ali), Zachary Miller (Austin), Caleb Miller (Samantha), Jonathan Wilson, Kambry Wilson, and D.J. Kintigh; great-granddaughters Kailhi Huang, Kynnsleigh Miller, Natalleighah Miller, and Darwynne Huang; brothers Edgar Marker (Connie) and Lawrence Marker (Rose); and sister Betty “Etta” Custer (Dale). Gordon started working on the farm at the age of 15. He then spent most of the rest of his work career as a coal miner and later, as a truck driver. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset, with a service to follow at 11 AM Minister Rick Kinneer officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to In Touch Hospice or the Somerset Humane Society.
