Burton L. “Bud” Holt, 82, of Somerset, passed on August 1, 2016 at Meadowview Nursing Center in Berlin. Born October 25, 1933 in Powell, WY, he is the son of the late John and Dorothy Holt. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lois Holt in 2013; sister Jackie; and brother Bill. Bud is survived by his children Christine Blubaugh and husband Rick of Berlin and Tim Holt and wife Melissa of Somerset; and granddaughters Jennifer Boice and husband Christopher, Julie Petro and husband Sam, Jodi Blubaugh, Alissa Holt, and Alison Holt.

Bud was a veteran of the US Navy Seabees in the Korean War. He was a retired dragline operator for Godin Brothers Mining in Stoystown. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Somerset. Bud enjoyed fishing, and was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Friends will be received from 10 am until 12 pm with a service to immediately follow at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Somerset, Pastor Arnie McFarland officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Interment at Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Calvary United Methodist Church at 239 W. Church St. Somerset, PA 15501.
