Gerald P. Miller Sr., 75, of Somerset, passed on March 21, 2014 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital.  Born November 30, 1938 in Somerset, he is the son of the late Chester M. Miller Sr and Martha (Bethel) Miller.  He is also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle who raised him, Clyde and Sarah Stahl; children Brenda Samples and husband Robert, Gerald P. “Buck” Miller Jr. and wife Denise, Jack Miller Sr, Nancy Miller, and Lisa Cook and husband Michael H. Cook Sr., all of Garrettsville, OH, Judy Miller of Leavittsburg, OH, and Tracey Finney and husband William of Garrettsville, OH; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sister Sally Tyler of Rochester, NY; and brother  Dennis “Butch” Stahl and wife Penny of Meyersdale.  Gerald was a veteran of the US Coast Guard.  He was an avid fisherman and mechanic, and loved NASCAR racing.  There will be no viewing or visitation at Gerald’s request.  A memorial service will be held at a later time.  Arrangements by MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET.

    “Red”, as I always called him, and I, were friends over 60 years ago. Upon reading of his passing, I feel a sense of loss, nothing to compare to yours, but still feel it.

    Memories of our good times have never faded, for me.
