PATTERSON

Mary R. Tressler Patterson, 88, of Somerset, went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.  She was the wife of the late Clyde S. Patterson and the late John W. Tressler.  Born August 1, 1925 in Fort Hill, she was the daughter of Charles Urias and Cora (Leonard) Patton.  In addition to her husbands and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Roger and Donald Patton.  Mary leaves to cherish her memory: children Terry J. Tressler and wife Gail of LaVale, MD and Judy D. Harvey and husband Norman of Somerset; grandchildren Terri (Shaulis) Marsteller and husband Richard of New Park, Douglas J. Shaulis and fiance Stephanie of Somerset, and John J. Tressler of LaVale MD; great-grandchild Drew M. Marsteller and wife Emily of New Park; great-great-grandchildren Seitel Gallagher, and Rhett Jackson Marsteller, who will be arriving in July.  They are the children of Drew and Emily Marsteller; brothers Paul Patton of Confluence, Harry Patton of Ursina, and Joseph Patton of Lake Placid, FL; and sister Dorothy Kitchens of Norman, OK.  Mary worked with her husband Clyde in their business, Garrett Automotive, until they retired.  In her younger years, she was employed at the Roof Garden Motel in Somerset.  She was a former member of the Garrett United Methodist Church and was currently a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Somerset.  Mary was the light of many lives and touched everyone she met.  Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 PM Friday at MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET, where a service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, pastor Arnie McFarland officiating.  Interment at Highland Cemetery in Garrett.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice at 1590 N. Center Ave. Somerset, PA 15501.

    Love you both Jim and Judy, you both know your mother was a mother to all of the Nicklow kid’s as well as your families. We loved her and she will be missed by everyone she has ever met. Love to your families at this time our prayers and thoughts are with you all. Wish I could be there.

    Jim and Judy,Im so sorry to hear about Mary. We loved her and to us she was our family too.She was the only grandmother the kids ever had. Mary was a wonderful lady and we are so proud and grateful that God put her in our lives.We will miss her but she is in Heaven now with Clyde and your dad. I know she is happy and looking down on all of us and watching. We will cherish all of the memories that we was so lucky to share with her.You are in our prayers. God bless your family.
