Robert L. Raley Lt. Col. (Ret.) US Army, 90 of Sipesville, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2014.  Born March 12, 1924 in Rockwood, he is a son of the late Charles and Sarah (Baughman) Raley.  He is also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.  Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy (Moroski) Raley; sons Robert L Raley Jr. of Somerset and Jerry Raley and wife Cindy of Royers Ford; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister Shirley Shaffer and husband Jim of Hyndman.  Bob was a veteran of the US Army in WWII and continued on as an officer for 23 years, serving tours in Germany and Korea.  He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police.  He was awarded numerous citations and commendations for his service.  Upon retirement, he and Dorothy relocated to Sipesville in 1973.  He was an active member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren where he sang in the choir, was a song leader, sang many solos, and taught Sunday School.  Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams.  He also enjoyed traveling and gardening.  There will be no visitation at Bob’s request.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET, Rev. Chuck Statler officiating.  Military Honors will be accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard.  Interment at Sipesville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sipesville Church of the Brethren at PO Box 207 Sipesville, PA 15561 or In Touch Hospice at PO Box 1173 Somerset, PA 15501.
